1 training module in European institutions:
A one-week training module is organized in the 2nd semester to take part in specific conferences and meet members of European institutions (Court of Justice of the European Union in Luxembourg, European Commission, Council of the Union, Economic and Social Committee, Committee of the Regions, European Parliament in Brussels).
Students will also have the opportunity to conduct research at the European Commission's Central Library in Brussels.
The team is made up of professors from Aix-Marseille University, but also from other French and foreign universities, as well as professionals. Theoretical teaching is backed up by the necessary practical orientation, and professionals are invited to give lectures on a variety of topics, including international arbitration, the European Union budget and intellectual property. Lecturers include lawyers from international law firms and European Union officials.
The teaching team may vary from year to year, depending on availability, but always reflects the richness of our network of partners.
Each legal module is the subject of a written or oral examination marked out of 20. The teaching of French is graded by continuous assessment and/or examination. Only above-average marks count towards the overall average. From April to June, LL.M. students are required to carry out a research project supervised by a member of the teaching staff, culminating in the writing of a dissertation of around 50 pages, marked out of 40.
To pass the exams and be admitted to the diploma, students must obtain an overall average of 10/20.
Students must hold a degree equivalent to a Master's in Law, or have a course of study considered equivalent by the Director of the LL.M. A very good level of English is required (80 TOEFL iBT / 6-6.5 IELTS). Applicants are selected on the basis of their academic record. The number of students admitted is limited to around twenty-five. The registration fee is 6,000 Euros. This covers only tuition fees in the strict sense of the term; accommodation, food and transport expenses are not included.
Applications received: between January 1 and June 30.
The decision is sent to candidates 1 month after acknowledgement of receipt of the application file.
