The LL.M. in European Business Law - DESU de Droit Européen des Affaires is offered to international students who wish to acquire a solid knowledge of European business law.

Created in 1997 it was the first degree in law at the level of Master 2 taught in English in France.

TEACHING

The hourly volume is more than 200 hours, programmed between September 15 and March 31.

A research paper is being prepared by the writing of a dissertation between April and the end of June.

The lessons are taught in the form of seminars from 15 to 18 hours.

1 French module:

• 47 hours. Students are divided into two groups: beginners and advanced.

1 training module in the European institutions:

A one-week training module is organized during the 2nd semester to attend specific conferences and meet members of the European Institutions (European Union Court of Justice in Luxembourg, European Commission, Council of the European Union, Economic and Social Committee, Committee of the Regions, European Parliament in Brussels).

Students will be able to conduct research at the Central Library of the European Commission in Brussels.

TEACHERS

The team consists of professors of Aix-Marseille University, but also other French and foreign universities, and also professionals. Theoretical lessons are supported by a necessary practical orientation and professionals are invited to participate in conferences on various themes such as international arbitration, the European Union budget, and Intellectual Property. The speakers are lawyers of international firms, officials of the European Union.
The teaching staff can vary from year to year depending on availability, but always reflects the richness of our network of partners.

KNOWLEDGE CONTROL

Each legal module is the subject of a written or oral examination written on 20. The teaching of French results in the award of a mark in the context of continuous review and / or examination. From April to June, LL.M. students must do a research work supervised by a teacher of the teaching team and concretized by the writing of a dissertation, about fifty pages, written out of 40.

To pass the exams and be admitted to the diploma, the student must obtain a general average of 10/20.

ACCES TO THE DIPLOMA

Students must have a degree equivalent to a master's degree in law, or must have a course of study considered equivalent by the Director of LL.M. A very good level of English is required (550 TOEFL paper-base / 80 TOEFL iBT / 6-6.5 IELTS). The selection of candidates is made on file review. The number of students admitted is limited to about twenty-five. The registration fee is 53500 Euros. They cover only tuition fees stricto sensu; Accommodation, food, transport expenses are not included.

The decision is sent to the candidates one month after receipt of the application file.

Students wishing to apply for CROUS student accommodation must apply before 15 April.
Please note that even if you apply within the deadline, you will not automatically be allocated a CROUS accommodation.
